Note in the case of all of these I’ve only actually seen X1, though I’ve been moderately spoilered for X2 (ie I know the plotline and what happened at the end, but I haven’t read any really detailed spoilers, mostly just X2 fics), nor have I read either novel (though it’s impossible to spend any lengh of time in fandom without knowing the novel version of Scott’s backstory)

I’m going to see about doing this for other ‘verses, and my other Fandoms, but not tonight — I need to get more than 75-odd words into Beginnings part two

Writing

Well have a draft on Part One of the powerswap — should go up tommorow evening. It’s only about a 1000 words — which really shouldn’t have taken me 10 days to do I think straight away to the next part of this — I can’t quite find any insperation for Victim of War (Harry Potter) though I really ought to get the next part out on that. Think I might try to get the first powerswap fic out as a continous thing, then head back to either Broken or Victim of War. *tries to shove two long(ish) X1 bunnies back into captivity, but dicovers bunnies that have been fed by research are onery critters*

Powerswap seems to be going next to nowhere — the new version is under a page — once I actually get Scott to the Professor, I know exactly where it’s going but writing stuff out of order always winds up needing such a heavy hand with the editing to make it flow together, which I don’t much like doing if I don’t have to. So I’m still trying to make the beginning flow for now, get him up to meeting Jean… (no it’s not S/J — I may like the pairing reasonably well to read or as background, but I’m still me with my usual tastes — the actual pairing is classified untill the release of the fic — or possibly it’s sequel depending on where I cut it)

late night update

Today wound up a bit of a dead zone on writing — I did get another couple paras written on the powerswap story but much of the day went to reading Min’s newest: How the Leopard Changed her Spots. and roleplaying and just fiddling around on the web. While giving up the work I’ve done isn’t something I want to do really part of me wants to restart the powere swap from the top, I’m not sure this begining is working; and thus I kinda shoved it aside today.

A day

Well I got Broken #3 out yesterday, and then a bit over a page on my PowerSwap story. I didn’t get much done today though, unless you count the Grocery shopping and sleeping. Will try to get more done tomorrow.

Tired...

Yesterday I finished the plugin I was working on — uploaded the plugin and got asked for additional functionality almost immediately.. worked on that a bit, then playing with those weird characters caused me to want to go play with the conlang stuff I haven’t touched in a while.

Today I worked on StoryStorer for some time, and finished a draft of Broken #3 which should be up tommorow, after I edit it.

Gah....

I think I’m going to be seeing unicode characters in my sleep tonight after spending 6 hours working on a Unicode -> low ASCII conversion function… nevermind the odd characters I got after converting them into pairs of ascii characters, or the glyphs I got when I displayed that in Wingbats so every character actually displayed…

Eventually though I got the needed lines of code written and sent it off to the guy I’m doing this for so he can test it. Hopefully if it works for him I can post the whole thing to the MT forums and get some oneelse to check the Unicode to low ascii chart he made up against general usage.

Today

Not much writting done today — I spent the greater chunk of my day trying to get the MT/LJ crosspost plugin to work correctly. I wound up deleting all the entries I crossposted yesterday, and re-crossposting in more or less the correct format. The entries are still showing up with extranious <lj-cut> tags but I think I might have gotten that fixed for the future — in any case it’s easier to fix that by hand than to delete and start over again, though I’d like to have it fixed for new entries.

Writings, Recent & Upcoming

Well I never did quite finish off the holiday series, but what I’ve got is plenty; it’s not like it’s an actual series of connected stories that needs to be finished — they’re only connected by theme.

Finally got out the next part for Broken — and the third is over half done. Minorly fustrated with how long it’s going to be though; not into novel-length I hope but I do need to show an number of things and give some degree of closure to the green kid.

Soon as I get that done I’m finally going to write up the idea I had for Min’s PowerSwap Challenge. Precog-Scott and non-TP-Charles — a few of the others I’m sure on their new power, others we’ll see where it goes.

Soon as that or the first fic/chapter thereof goes out I’m going to try to get the next part of Victim of War.

Along side all of these, Lu and I are working on Mount Gring Terminous: Chapter 2 but like the first and maybe the next, there’s a lot of wordage that simply doesn’t involve my people, and therefore his heavyish school schedule, and difficulty settling down to work on his own are going to make this one a little slow too. After that though, there’s a lot already drafted, and it’s more an (heavy-duty) editing job than a writing one.

I’m honestly not sure where I’ll go with the solo works after the next part of Victim of War — as well as continuing that or Broken, or the PowerSwap — I’ve got two other X-movie-verse fics that want to be written: one I’ve started but not posted any of yet, and I’m honestly planning to leave it that way until one of Broken or Victim of War is done — three rape fics at once is rather past my limit — the other is the main story I did a Christmas snippet from — the one with the student aged, rather broken Mortimer. As well as the X stories I’ve got a couple of plot bunnies for Gundam Wing, but unless somthing happends they’re going to sit around a while.

Time to make another attempt at keeping this updated...

I haven’t managed to post to my blog in over a month, but I’m going to take another stab at keeping this regularly updated. In an effort to get me to update this more often I’ve installed a LJ crosspost plugin and signed up for a LJ — means I can stop being an anonymous poster when I comment on peoples LJs too

In a bit — or possibly tommorow I’ll post some actual updates on what I’ve been doing lately.
